In the City Council of Vila Nova de Famalicão, Wednesdays are open-door days to meet the citizens.
Mário Passos, president of the municipality, apologist of proximity and dialogue policies, decided to keep the initiative of the former mayor, Paulo Cunha, and will continue to promote an open presidency, reserving Wednesday mornings to attend to the citizens.
In fact, in the first Wednesday of his mandate, Mário Passos already received a set of citizens who wanted to speak directly with the Mayor. "The doors of my office will always be open to the famalicenses, either for the presentation of problems, or of proposals and various solutions".
On the day of his presentation as candidate for the Presidency of the City Council, Mário Passos stated that his "first commitment to the people of Famalicão would be to pursue the path of bringing people together, of listening to them, of involving them, of giving them tools to evolve as individuals and as a community", referring to a policy of proximity and active citizenship.
To schedule a meeting with the Mayor in the scope of the open presidency, famalicenses should contact the services of the Mayor's Support Office through the City Council's general contacts, indicating name, parish and subject. They may also do it in person at the local authority's citizens' service or through the application "Famalicão Your Place", selecting the option "Meet the Mayor".
